Review:

This amazing, fascinating and humorous book is about a grumpy business man called Ebenezer Scrooge. Mr Scrooge doesn’t   believe in Christmas, charity, kindness – or ghosts. So don’t be so foolish to wish him a merry Christmas! On the night of Christmas Eve, 4 spirits come to visit him and try to give him Christmas Spirit. The main characters are Ebenezer Scrooge, a man who was once a kind-spirited fellow but was struck by greed and fear of poverty and he became a grumpy old business man;  Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s long lost business partner who has been dead for 7 years and came back to give Scrooge one last chance for reformation,; the Ghost of Christmas Past, who shows Scrooge all the years at Christmas and shows Scrooge how kind he was in the past; the Ghost of Christmas Present, who shows Scrooge  what will happen that Christmas;  the Ghost of Christmas yet to come, who shows Scrooge’s terrible fate;  and Fred, Scrooge’s nephew who asked him to dine with him. However, Scrooge disagrees and says to Fred that he will dine with Fred when he’s dead! My favourite bit is when the Ghost of Christmas yet to come shows Scrooge a horrifying tombstone… This book is recommended by me to ages 9 to 90 because everybody would enjoy a classic! ‘A Christmas Carol’ is an amazing, 10/10 book.
